LimeSurvey
Open-source · self-hostable · replaces 2 SaaS tools on os-alt
LimeSurvey/LimeSurvey · alive · ★ 3.59k · last commit today · 125 open issues
License: GPL-2.0 — Community Edition is GPL-2.0; Professional / Enterprise add hosted features under commercial terms.
Good fit for Academic researchers, government, and orgs that need offline-capable surveys (LimeSurvey supports printed-to-paper surveys with OCR-back-in).
Weak at UI is functional but dated; not the conversational vibe Typeform sells.
In a terminal? npx -y github:SolvoHQ/os-alt-cli surveymonkey prints
the SurveyMonkey comparison table including LimeSurvey.

Replaces these SaaS
- SurveyMonkey · Online surveys
Pull `martialblog/limesurvey` and a MariaDB instance. SurveyMonkey survey export (Settings → Export survey design → PDF or DOC) is human-readable, not machine-importable — recreate the questionnaire in LimeSurvey's structure (Survey → Add question groups → Add questions). For responses, SurveyMonkey export → CSV → LimeSurvey's response import (import .vvexport file format after column rename).
- Typeform · Forms / surveys / quizzes
No Typeform importer. Recreate questions in LimeSurvey's editor; for big surveys use the LSS XML format and write a converter from Typeform's exported question structure.
